The quiet joy of cozy games before bed

September 1, 2026 · Lukas Brandt

Somewhere along the way I stopped wanting adrenaline from my late-night gaming. After a long day the last thing I need is a boss fight. I need a farm to water and a village to say hello to.

Tiny Harvest Moonlight has been my go-to for exactly this. There are no timers pressuring me, no leaderboards, nothing to lose. I plant some crops, tidy up the farm, and put the phone down feeling calmer than when I picked it up.

The trick with cozy games is that they still need a loop. Pure relaxation with nothing to do gets boring fast. The good ones give you small, achievable goals so there's always a gentle reason to return tomorrow.

If you've only ever played competitive or action games, a cozy sim might feel strange at first. Give it a few evenings. The pace is the point.
